Siaivo: Ukrainians choose the name for the national LLM

30/03/2026
Ukrainians voted in the Diia app to select the name of the national large language model we are developing together with Kyivstar. It will support Ukrainians across public services, business, science, education, defense, and other sectors. Millions of people will use this system, which is why both the name options and the final choice were made by you.

Ukrainians submitted more than 3,000 name ideas. Ten finalists, pre-selected by experts, advanced to the final vote. Among the key selection criteria were originality, absence of plagiarism, and compliance with intellectual property rights.

A total of 136,090 users participated in the Diia poll. By a margin of 3,000 votes, the name Siaivo won.

Final ranking:

  1. Siaivo — 22,601

  2. Slovo — 19,546

  3. Homin — 18,301

  4. Kavun — 16,978

  5. Pytai — 15,214

  6. Shypit — 11,228

  7. Yadro — 8,635

  8. Hoverla — 8,492

  9. Dzvinka — 8,379

  10. Shukai — 6,716

Based on the voting results in Diia, the authors of the finalist name ideas will receive prizes from Kyivstar:

  • 1st–3rd place: a Samsung smartphone and a branded phone strap;

  • 4th–5th place: a JBL speaker and a one-year premium Kyivstar TV subscription;

  • 6th–10th place: a branded phone strap and a three-month premium Kyivstar TV subscription.

As a reminder, in June, the Ministry of Digital Transformation and Kyivstar launched joint development of the national large language model. A beta release of the system is scheduled for late spring this year.
