Diia.Education Launches an AI Mentor for Personalized Learning

30/12/2025
The national Diia.Education platform is beginning the integration of artificial intelligence tools built using the Gemini language model, supported by Google.org. The first tool in this rollout is the AI Mentor — a personal digital assistant that guides users as they work through learning materials.

“AI is now the norm across government, business, and education — and it’s reshaping markets faster than professions can evolve. Global forecasts suggest these shifts could create 170 million new jobs by 2030. One thing is clear: the path from knowledge to real skills must be shorter than ever. For over 3 million learners, Diia.Education is becoming the place to build skills quickly. That’s why, we’re launching the AI Mentor on Diia.Education — a tool designed to help people learn more effectively,” stated Valeriya Ionan, Advisor to the First Deputy Prime Minister — Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine on Innovations, Digitalisation and Global Partnerships.

Why Diia.Education is integrating AI tools

A 2025 study shows that 59% of adults link digital skills development to career growth and improved financial well-being, and 76% associate digital competencies with positive economic impact and new opportunities for business and employment. Motivation to learn is high — but the barriers to gaining new knowledge are changing. If Ukrainians were previously held back by a lack of time or limited access to opportunities, today a growing share of people say they don’t understand how and why to learn: this indicator increased from 9% in 2019 to 18% in 2025. That is why Diia.Education is strengthening personalization not only at the stage of choosing topics, but also throughout the learning journey itself.

 How the AI Mentor can support learners across Diia.Education’s content

  • quickly summarizes the content and practical value of learning materials;

  • explains complex terms and professional vocabulary in plain language;

  • creates short notes highlighting the key ideas from each lesson.

As a result, users won’t get lost in the material: they’ll receive the explanations they need, overcome doubts, and complete learning without getting stuck or losing motivation.

 Try learning with the AI Mentor today

  1. Log in to Diia.Education (available in a Ukrainian-language interface only).

  2. Open the page of the educational series, simulator, Byte, or guide you want.

  3. Tap the “AI Mentor” icon in the bottom-right corner of the screen and start a conversation within the selected material.

 What’s next

The launch of the AI Mentor opens a series of AI solutions that Diia.Education will roll out step by step. The next tool will be the AI Guide — a smart navigator for selecting learning materials and building personalized learning pathways across 700+ educational products.

“We support Diia.Education as a platform that makes learning more accessible and more closely aligned with people’s needs. The integration of AI tools is a natural step in the development of personalized education, where technology works for the user rather than complicating the learning process,” said Viktor Liakh, President of East Europe Foundation.

Diia.Education is implemented with the support of Switzerland within the EGAP Program which is carried out by East Europe Foundation. The 2023 platform update and the integration of AI tools are implemented by the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine with the support of Google.org.
