Sandbox is becoming more accessible for developers and startups
The Government has updated the Sandbox rules to allow more teams to participate and to make the application process simpler.
Sandbox is now open not only to legal entities, but also to individual entrepreneurs (sole proprietors). Unnecessary bureaucracy has been removed – applicants no longer need to submit certificates confirming the absence of bankruptcy proceedings or tax debt.
The Sandbox scope has also been expanded with the addition of energy and culture. This opens up new opportunities for solutions that strengthen Ukraine’s energy resilience, as well as for projects that preserve cultural heritage and support the growth of creative industries.
Another important change is that teams at the concept stage can now apply. There is no longer a requirement to prove investor funding at an early stage. This allows developers to address data protection, ethics, and algorithmic transparency from the very beginning of product design.
The more teams that join the Sandbox, the better the future rules will be. Based on real-life cases, we plan to develop by the end of 2026 legislation grounded in business practice rather than theory, along with clear and practical guidelines for developers.
We are working to make it easier to build and scale innovative solutions in Ukraine.
