The lawyer of the future: Opportunities and rules for working with AI
The rise of artificial intelligence is opening new opportunities for the legal sector, while simultaneously raising questions of responsibility, ethics, and legal regulation. Striking a balance between innovation and trust is becoming a key challenge for the profession.
This was the focus of the event “The Lawyer of the Future: Opportunities and Rules for Working with AI,” organized by the Ministry of Digital Transformation in partnership with ELSA Kyiv, the Ukrainian Bar Association (UBA), and the UBA Students’ League. The event brought together over 80 participants, including students, young lawyers, and members of the legal community, to discuss the key changes shaping the profession as AI develops.

During the event:
-
Experts shared their vision for the development of artificial intelligence in the legal field.
-
A panel discussion, “The Future of Law: How AI Is Changing the Lawyer’s Work,” explored practical AI applications, ethical and legal boundaries, and the tangible benefits of technology in daily legal practice.
-
A rapid-fire “either/or” survey allowed participants to quickly express their views on AI’s role and observe how professional attitudes toward technology are evolving.
-
A hands-on workshop demonstrated real-world AI applications for lawyers, from document handling to analytical support for legal decisions.
Experts also shared their own experiences with AI, provided a set of effective prompts, including guidance for creating bots in Gemini, and explained how to customize ChatGPT for individual legal tasks.
Each participant received event merchandise and printed recommendations for the responsible use of AI in legal practice.

Together, we are building a legal profession ready for the age of artificial intelligence.
The event was held with the support of ELSA Kyiv, the UBA, and the UBA Students’ League
